Basic Terms of Use of the EnergyExchange.info

Please note:

1. As you will see, there is no charge in using this EnergyExchange, and as such, we may for the time being be quite limited in what this site may offer whilst still maintaining data protection legislation.
2. The EnergyExchange and any supporting companies make no warranties to the professionalism, skills, or qualifications of any person listing their details on this website. Any person wishing to arrange an exchange must make their own judgments and background checks to the suitability of any person, to exchange the chosen exchange. 3. The site is maintained by the generosity of those who give their time freely to maintain the site, sometimes in exchange for small amounts of clear advertising on each page. This is not designed as a forum for you to advertise your skills or services for commercial gain. Anyone found to be promoting themselves or using this site for commercial will have their details removed, and appropriate action may be taken to recover costs. We reserve the right not to display certain information, modify, or remove your profile in full, should we have any suspicion that it is being used inappropriately.
4. Any person or business found to be using this site to 'spam' other users, send unsolicited messages, or otherwise act in a way which may cause detriment to the Energy Exchange (particular in relation to the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003), will be reported to the relevant authorities whereby appropriate action may be taken ("Breech of an enforcement order issued by the Information Commissioner is a criminal offence liable to a fine of up to £5,000 in a magistrates court, or an unlimited fine if the trial is before a jury.").
5. We do not gain any revenue directly from these free services, and we do not pass on the details you submit to any other company. Please note however, that we are unable to prevent access at present by unknown users. Certain prevention measures have been made to reduce automated 'email farming' of your address, although it remains a possibility by manual methods.
6. We are only able to post your details online if you supply us with a valid personal email address (as this is perhaps the nearest option we have to 'free' communication). We're sorry, but a telephone number isn't enough. (There are various sites who will set you up with your own personal email address, these include : hotmail, yahoo, msn, gmail)
7. If you wish us to display a weblink to your site, then please ensure you place a similar return link in your site to the EnergyExchange.info on the page you are linking to, before we link to your site (this link must go directly to the page our link is on).
8. You have the option to have your telephone number displayed if you explicitly tell us to do so by completing the telephone number 'shown' area of the the online form. If this is not the case, it will be kept securely off-line in our secure database in case we need to contact you in exceptional circumstances. If at any time we find your email address is not working, we may contact you, or we may have to just remove your details directly (so please ensure your email address is valid, up to date, and checked regularly)
9. An online form has already been established to save our administration time, so please fill in ALL fields, to fully gain from the services offered by the EnergyExchange (we may not be able to put your details online if you don't supply us with enough information)
10. Currently, all information is sorted & displayed manually, so should you notice an error in your details, please contact us immediately with full details. We will send a confirmation email when your details are online.
11. If you have submitted your details to us and it has been more than a couple of days, but they are currently not displayed, there is a good chance that the details weren't complete, or were invalid, if this is the case, please add your details again by filing in new form online now, or contact us to find out more information.
12. These details will remain publicly accessible in this manner, until a suitable password protected area of the site is fully established incorporating a suitable interactive database, we will then be in contact to all those registered, informing them of the new passwords and user names, thus all those unregistered in the forum, will be unable to see those details currently displayed (hopefully ensuring that more people sign up to the free service).
13. If you don't see anyone from your area yet, then this is all the more reason to post your details, not only will it give you better opportunities to exchange energy with others, but it also inspires others to also post their details in your area. If someone contacts you who does not have their details displayed, then please contact us with their information, so others may also benefit from the energy they have to offer.

15. If you wish to report any abuse of the service we offer, please report it to enquiries (at) energyexchange.info so that we may investigate.

To include your details in the EnergyExchange, please complete the online form as fully as possible, so that we may show your availability in our online database.

Upon successful submission, we will then contact you to let you know your details have been added.

Please note, until further notice, access to the EnergyExchange is free. The only way we can do this, is to maintain the service entirely online, and thus we will be unable to contact you by phone or by mail except in exceptional cases. You can get a free email address from many places if you don't already have one, but please ensure that the email address you type is completely valid, if it is not, we will be unable to contact you and thus display your details online.
